Jason Brooks Joins Journeymen Singing Bass

The Journeymen Quartet is pleased to announce the addition of Jason Brooks as the newest member of the quartet, singing bass.  Jason fills the vacancy in the bass position created upon the resignation of long-time Journeymen bass David Grant earlier this month.

Jason is an extremely talented young bass singer, at only 28 years of age.  He has a tremendous talent for singing a smooth lyric, as well as a powerful bass range.

"Jason is a fine young man who fits the personality of our group well and shares our heart for ministry," says Stacey Murphy.  "He is also a very hard worker and has quickly impacted many aspects of our group in a positive way.  We are very honored to have him become a part of our team," says Murphy.

"It has been amazing to see how God has opened the doors for this new chapter in my life singing gospel music," says Brooks.  "His timing and His plan have been evident both in my life and in the life of the quartet.  Each of us believes that God is going to honor and bless our efforts for His Kingdom in a mighty way."

Jason is no stranger to gospel music, having grown up knowing that he wanted nothing more than to sing in a gospel quartet.  Jason realized that dream when he became a founding member of The Crossmen Quartet, based out of Morgantown, KY.  Jason sang bass with The Crossmen for over nine years.   During that time, Jason provided the solid bass foundation for which The Crossmen were known.  Jason sang with The Crossmen on many major events across the country, including multiple appearances on the National Quartet Convention and more than 20 appearances on The Grand Ole Opry.  After leaving The Crossmen in May 2001, Jason sang for a brief time with the newly reformed Perfect Heart of Anderson, IN.

Jason's debut concert with The Journeymen was at the church in which he was saved, Chapel Union Baptist Church of Welch's Creek, KY, on Friday, February 15th at 7:00pm.

Jason and his wife Lynnette are originally from Morgantown, KY.  They now reside in Shepherdsville, KY, where Lynette has just completed her residency at the University of Louisville School of Medicine as a Pediatrician.  Jason and Lynette have two beautiful little girls, Lydia, age 3, and Jenna, age 1.  They are active members of Little Flock Baptist Church, in Shepherdsville, KY.

We have added a new "At Home" photo gallery to introduce you to Jason and his family.  Be sure to stop by to get to know Jason better.

Be sure and join The Journeymen whenever we are in your area to welcome Jason to our family!  You may also send an email to Jason to welcome him to the group.
