An Open Letter From David Grant |
Dear Friends,
Most of you know by now that February 10th marked my last night with The Journeymen Quartet. That night
brought to and end fourteen wonderful years as bass singer for the group. The decision to leave the group was not an easy one, but it was a peaceful one. God had been directing
me in another path for some time. It feels great to know that I have listened to Him, even though it meant leaving the guys.
Let me say that there is not another group of singers traveling today that are more sincere, dedicated, and hard-working than The Journeymen Quartet. It
has been a true pleasure to share the stage and bus with such quality people as Stacey, Michael, Brad, and Anthony. The immediate future holds a lot of family time for me. Many of you know
that I met my wife Holly when we sang at her church. We have not experienced a "normal" life from the beginning. Now we have the greatest
blessing God could ever bestow in our son Parker. Parker is now seven months old and changing every day. I am looking very forward to spending
every minute possible with the blessings God has given me - Holly and Parker. I would like to thank the countless friends I have made all over this great
country for their support and prayers for The Journeymen Quartet. They are greatly appreciated. Please continue to lift up the group and my family as we
both go through changes. It is amazing how God directs people and situations. Some time when you have an hour or two, I could tell you an amazing story of
how it was made clear to me that it was time to leave and who would replace me. When God's will is so evident, it is impossible to ignore it.
Finally, I feel that I will never really "leave" the group. My role with the group merely changed on February tenth from bass singer to number one fan.
For those of you that I did not get to say goodbye to, I will see you at NQC and maybe even on the road from time to time with the Journeymen. Look for me
on the "All Star Quartets! Hymns" project released in March, 2002. I had the distinct pleasure of recording "Whispering Hope" on that wonderful project.
Until I see you again, whether here or There, goodbye and God bless. In His highest honor, David
