January 28, 2002 Journeymen Nominated for New Artist of the Year in 2002 SGMA Awards

 

The Journeymen are one of five nominees for New Artist of the Year in the 2002 Southern Gospel Music Assocation Awards.  The awards banquet will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at the Park Vista Resort in Gatlinburg, TN. 

"We are both honored and humbled to be nominated for such a prestigious award in southern gospel music," said Stacey Murphy, manager and lead singer of The Journeymen. 

"I have personally been a member of the SGMA since its inception.  We share in their goals of both advancing the future of southern gospel, while also preserving its glorious past.  To be honored in this way by the membership of the SGMA is such a blessing to our ministry," said Murphy.

This annual banquet also serves as a fund raiser for the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame and Museum located at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN.
