Journeymen Sign with Homeland Records

The Journeymen Quartet has signed an exclusive recording agreement which makes them the newest member of the Homeland Entertainment family of artists.  The recording and distribution agreement was signed on the set of the INSP "Gospel Music - Southern Style" television program, just prior to the Journeymen recording two upcoming shows.  Bill Traylor, CEO of Homeland Entertainment, is the host of the weekly show featuring the top groups and soloists in southern gospel music today.

Stacey Murphy, manager and lead singer for the Journeymen states "This record deal between the Journeymen and Homeland is a wonderful opportunity for our group.  To be associated with one of the premier record companies in southern gospel today is both exciting and humbling.  We believe that Homeland will be a wonderful partner for our group as we strive to fulfill the call of God on our lives to minister through southern gospel music."

"Bill Traylor and all of the staff of Homeland has already made us feel like one of the family.  We are excited about all that lies ahead both for our group and for Homeland Records," says Murphy.  The Journeymen are another addition to the strong Homeland roster of artists, including DoveBrothers, Florida Boys, Walt Mills, Wilburns, Won By One,  Melody Boys, and N'Harmony.

The Journeymen will be returning to the studio in February to begin work on their first Homeland project.  Song selection is virtually complete and pre-production meetings have already begun between Homeland, the Journeymen, and veteran producer Otis Forrest.

The Journeymen are one of the youngest male quartet's on the national southern gospel scene today, with the average age of the quartet member's being only 27.  The Journeymen sing traditional southern gospel, with a focus on being effective ministers of the gospel in any setting.

In 2000, the Journeymen experienced their first national radio success with "When I Move" charting for six consecutive months in both the "Singing News Magazine" Top80 and the "U.S. Gospel News" Top100.  Currently, the Journeymen's radio single "The Trial Of My Faith," written by Rodney Griffin, is experiencing heavy airplay nationwide and has charted in the "Singing News Magazine" Top80 chart for two months in a row.
