The Journeymen Quartet is a group of young men who have committed their time and talents to using Southern Gospel Music to present the gospel of Jesus Christ. The ministry of The Journeymen Quartet, singing a traditional southern gospel style of music, has been active for over twenty years. From this experience comes a keen sensitivity to the needs of the moment in most any setting. This ministry has taken the group to areas throughout the United States to spread the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ at many churches, concerts, and fairs.

Stacey Murphy, LeadStacey Murphy - Lead / Manager

Stacey has been a part of The Journeymen Quartet since its inception over twenty years ago. His responsibilities include singing lead during concerts, as well as the management of the group. Stacey serves on the Executive Committee of the Southern Gospel Music Guild, the National Quartet Convention Advisory Board and he is a member of the Southern Gospel Music Association. He is also an ordained deacon in his home church. Stacey and his wife Dana have three wonderful young boys, Matthew, age 10, Michael, age 9, and Mark, age 4.

Michael Mardis, Baritone Michael Mardis - Baritone

Michael has been singing baritone with the group for 9 years and always does a wonderful job.  He is 29 years old and originally from Campbellsville, KY.  Michael and his wife Lisa were married in December of 1997, and now reside in Shepherdsville, KY.  Michael and Lisa have been blessed with a beautiful baby boy, little Noah Ethan Mardis, born August 4, 2003.   Michael has a powerful baritone voice and is also an ordained deacon in his home church.  Mike continues to be a blessing to listeners through his God-given talents.

Brad Kemp - Pianist

Brad Kemp is the talented young piano player for the quartet.  Brad is from Marengo, IN and is a member of the Marengo Christian's Missionary Church.  He started playing the piano when he was 13 years old and has been playing for gospel quartets since he was just 18.  A highlight of Brad's musical career was when he attended the Stamps-Baxter School of Music in 1998.  Brad joined the quartet in September 1999 at the National Quartet Convention.  Brad is 29 years old, single and resides in Shepherdsville, KY. Will Van Wyngarden, Bass

Will Van Wyngarden - Bass

Will Van Wyngarden is the gifted young bass singer for the quartet.  Will began singing with the quartet in August 2003.  Will is originally from Pella, Iowa.  Prior to joining The Journeymen, Will graduated from Iowa State with a degree in Journalism.  Will was a founding member of Firm Foundation Quartet, based out of Owensboro, KY.  Will is following in his father Warren's footsteps, as Warren sings bass in a fine quartet from Des Moines, IA called JourneyBound.  Will is 24 years old.  His hobbies include basketball and golf.  Will and his wife Allison have been married for two years and make their home in Bowling Green, KY.

The sincerity, desire to serve God, and talent of each member provides a foundation which will make the music of The Journeymen Quartet reach out to uplift and encourage the Christian, as well as "sowing seeds" for winning the lost to Christ. Throughout a concert with The Journeymen Quartet, the listener will realize the strong sense of Christian joy with which the group serves. From the first note to the last, the listener is exhilarated, ministered to, and entertained. A concert with Stacey, Michael, Brad and Will will be one you will keep in your heart and mind for a long time.
